Hazrat Sheikh Abdur Raheem Sahib (Rehmat Ullah Aleh)
1909 – 2001
Hazrat Sheikh Abdur Raheem Sahibؒ (Rehmat Ullah Aleh)
Hazrat Sheikh Abdur Raheem Sahibؒ was born on 21st November 1909 in a family of farmers in the village of “Banda Zareef Khan,” 3 miles from Katlang and about 15 miles from Mardan (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), Pakistan. His father’s name was Muhammad Shah, and he had three sons; Abdur Raheem Sahibؒ was the youngest.
From early childhood (at the age of 5), Hazrat Sheikh Maulana Abdur Raheem Sahibؒ desired to learn the Quran, see the King of Islam Muhammad ﷺ, and meet the friends of Allah (Awliyaullah). He aspired to live his life following the example of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), which laid the foundation of Deen-e-Islam in him.
Throughout his life, he learned the Quran and Hadith, performed the Ziarat of the King of Islam Muhammad ﷺ, met many Awliyaullah, and became a great Sufi (Wali-Ullah). His Grand Peer was Hazrat Sheikh Siraj-ul-Haq Sahib ؒ, whose illuminated tomb is in GurdasPur (Punjab).
The love of the Quran and Hadith was innate in him. Therefore, he renounced the typical worldly lifestyle, including childhood amusements, adult comforts, the pursuit of wealth, familial attachments, and all obstacles that hindered his devotion to learning and preaching the Quran and Hadith.
Maulana Abdur Raheem Sahibؒ aimed to live in constant awareness of Allah, aligning his desires and actions with the Divine will. This harmony between the individual self and the Divine is a central theme in his teachings. He dedicated his entire life to learning and teaching the Quran and Hadith. He completed his early education until the fifth grade in the village of Lond Khwar (KPK) before traveling to India to study at Madrasa-e-Fateh Puri, where he completed his education.
Upon returning to Punjab, he spread Deen-e-Islam. He took the oath of submission in the spiritual paths of Chishtia and Qadria, with his Sheikh permitting him to do so in their first meeting. Sheikh Maulana Abdur Raheem Sahibؒ was a Wali-Ullah, and his spiritual blessings (Faiz) continue to benefit his disciples to this day. After spending some years in Punjab, he moved to Mardan (KPK). His sincere efforts bore fruit in the form of an institution he established called Idara-e-Maarif-Ul-Quran-O-Hadith. His disciples continue this mission with dedication to keep the light of this NOOR shining.
Idara-e-Maarif-Ul-Quran-O-Hadith preserves the precious teachings of Hazrat Sheikh Abdur Raheem Sahibؒ in audio and video formats, allowing everyone to listen and learn the true spirit of Deen-e-Islam. The institution remains dedicated to his teachings and continues to operate under the true light of Hazrat Sheikh Abdur Raheem Sahib’s ؒ guidance.
